Weekend Randomness

I was going to post an interview with each of my boys. It would be stinkin' hilarious, because, you know, my boys are stinkin' hilarious.

I sat Jack down and it went like this:

1. What is something Mommy always says to you?
*crickets*

2. What makes Mommy happy?
*holds breath - face turns red*

3. What makes Mommy sad?
*shrugs shoulders emphatically*

Lather, rinse repeat.

Operation interview boys was a complete and utter failure. I figured it was pointless to interview Kamden, mostly because I didn't have the energy to catch him first.

I now have an appointment with my doctor to ask for a referral to a gynecologist. I am understandably elated by this prospect. I am sure it will go something like this:

Doctor: what can I do for you?
Me: I would like to be referred to a gynecologist.
Doctor: Okay, I will do up a letter.
Me: Thanks.

This will take approximately 2.4 seconds however, the drive over one way, 15 minutes. Efficient, no? I asked if this could be done over the phone, of course, the answer was no.

Health care: you gotta bang your head against a brick wall repeatedly or it just ain't working right.

And winter is still here, signed sealed and delivered, it's ours.

We are understandably elated.

In other, less negative news, Jay and I are preparing to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in early May. We can't afford to go anywhere that requires airfare so we are in the process of looking into some weekend away opportunities. It's not as easy to make a decision as one might think! And relatively inexpensive but romantic suggestions are welcome.

We also watched Robots yesterday, Robin Williams is hilarious. That is all.

Kami, O-U-T.

It just started snowing here. BAH!

Heehee! Your "almost interview" was funny! I bet the boys are talkative when you least expect it and at those times you probably aren't in the right frame of mind to actually do an interview. Oooh - that's right! TGH and I are celebrating our anniversary in early May too! We are just going to go away for a night or two, no long vacation this year because of my school. But it doesn't matter - we always find interesting things to do and I am sure you will too. How annoying is it that you have to go in to see the doc just to ask for a referral to another doctor. Sheesh. I can't see why that can't be done over the phone. You should get reimbursed for the gas. LOL. Anyway, hang in there. Spring IS coming. I promise. :)

yahoo on the referral, all part of the process, I hear ya!
Weekend away...hum.... I have no idea what is close by, but could you get into Alberta and get some hiking and outdoor stuff in? Or how's about a lovely trip to Winnipeg!!!! Yes THAT is what you should do!

Wait isn't your health care free? What are you whining about ;-)

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you Kami, in order for me to suggest a weekend getaway I'd have to understand where you live and according to me you live Up, on a blanket of snow with a barber pole sign that says North. Right?

It is hard to get a letter from any doctor - ridiculous!!! I hope you get the referral and can get in for an appt soon.

Do you have any cute little B&Bs in driving distance from your place?? I know there are some out there, that might be a fun idea . . . wine, dinner, sleep, no kids to bother you!!!

And, for the record, I think my interview with my boys would go the same way. If they even paid attention to me!

we love the movie robots! we own it on dvd. too funny!!!

and WHAT was he thinking about that makes mommy happy???

oh and when we did our "home-cation" for our birthdays we actually really enjoyed not having to pack and go anywhere. i say, ship the boys off, HIRE someone to clean your house (less $ than one night in a hotel), stay home and enjoy the clean, eat at restaurants you would never take the boys, fix meals that the boys would never eat, go to the theater.... etc.

and yeah on the referral!

Oh, I just love your "interview" ... I don't think it failed, it just shows the cuteness that is your boys! I totally laughed out loud, Jack is hilarious!

I hope you think of something wonderful to do for your anniversary!

Interview fail, well, not really, you did get SOME answers...too funny. Your boys are a riot!
I know, our healthcare system needs a good shake, doesn't it? But you got your referral, yay.

I hope you get spring soon too, I think it's just around the corner from us. At least all the white stuff is gone.

Wow, 10 years is amazing. It's exciting to plan, isn't it? On our 10th we went to Chicago - our first time away without the boy since we had become parents. Memories...
