Disappear

Anyone wondering where I've been?

No?

Okay, so my ego is bigger than my mouth, who would have thought?!

I have been busy with work stuff, remember that big project? Well the deadline is less than 3 weeks away. And that seems like tomorrow to me right now. So I am I stressed? Nah! I am cool as cucumber.

If you believe that then you’re gullible.

I am stressed. The thing is that I have to leave it up to other people because I am the coordinator and final reviewer. That means it’s out of my control and I have to wait for others to do the work. Do you realize that I am a control FREAK? Yup. I am. This whole delegating thing? Not really in my vocabulary.

I am on a steep learning curve my friends, steep. I pulled out the iceclimbing gear because I am pretty sure it’ll be needed to reach this summit.

Thank goodness the people I am working with are all FANTASTIC. If they weren’t I might be in the corner in the fetal position right now.

But on the side? I have also been finalizing the details for my parent’s trip. This past weekend there was another seat sale whereby I scored them two seats to the SAME tropical destination we are headed to. Not only that but at the SAME time. In the condo on the beach right BESIDE ours.

WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!

Do you realize what this means?

Babysitters folks!

Jay and I will be off touring the island while Mom and Dad sit at the beach with the kids making sandcastles.

What? Isn’t that why you guys are joining us?

No?

Oh.

Well then I guess it’ll be fun to hang out all 6 of us on the beach making sandcastles. But Mom? You can help with the cooking right? You do know you are so much better at it than I am.

KIDDING!

While Jay and I might sneak off a couple times to do a bit of snorkeling, we are planning on having loads of fun doing things together. That is what a family vacation is all about after all.

And the vacation? It’ll be just what the doctor ordered after the summit to the peak of the biggest learning curve I have encountered to date. Or maybe the second steepest. I still haven’t reached the summit on this old parenting learning curve.

Maybe by the time they are 20?

Ah yes ... I am a control freak also, so I totally understand your fragile state of mind right now! It's an awful feeling knowing that you've done all you can, and now have to rely on OTHERS to do their bit. Perfectly terrifying, in fact!

BUT ... your vacation is going to make it all worthwhile.

We holiday every summer (last week of January ... can't wait!!) with my parents & sister, and it's a blast!! I'm sure you will have a great time with your parents. It's so special for the kids to have their grandparents around, and yes, you will be able to sneak a bit of "couple time" without too much organisation necessary. Often Rob and I will go out while the kids are asleep, and my folks are just watching telly so it's not even asking them to alter their plans! Whee!

That sounds like a nice incentive to buckle down and power through the next few weeks!

Things always have a way of working out on time. Just think tomorrow you get to take a break from the madness and hang with yours truly. What could be better than that? ;-)

Your vacation sound fantastic. I think it is awesome that your parents are going to be enjoying it with you. It is so rare when things like this get to happen that I hope you treasure it and take millions of pictures to look back on the great memories when you were all together.

I have confidence you will do GREAT! And that is great about your parents going on the vacation with you all. My Mom pretty much goes on all of our vacations and is so good to help out watching the kids when we ask her to. I hope you all have a good trip as a family. Take care and see you - good luck on your project/work stuff. Kellan

You are amazing. For me to LEAD a Module would make me physically ill. It's hard enough being second in command :)

Also! Yay for the parents!

Also! I need the deets on where you get your travel deets!

Yay, Kami's back! Yes, I did notice, actually, so go ahead and feel adored! (go on,..I'll wait while you bask in the moment) *giggle*

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to "update" us on the goings-on of your life. It's always interesting to hear!

You remind me of my husband with the "control" issues, he's the same way. It is hard to put your faith in others and resist taking over when you know you could handle it yourself. My husband's boss keeps telling him to delegate, delegate, delegate, so that he can move on to larger things. Easier said than done, I'm afraid!

Your vacation sounds so wonderful, how exciting! Don't you love looking forward to things like that? I love the anticipation almost as much as the going. If your last pictures are any indication, I think your boys will absolutely LOVE playing on the beach with Grandma and Grandpa!

Well, get back to work, Kami, we don't want to take you away from where you're needed. Have a great weekend and talk to you soon!
